If they did, there would be far less Nord owners I would think. I betcha 95% of people, and that includes owners of Clavia's products (and me too!) have no idea that Clavia's service and support is run in such a manner. Great board, and excellent infrastructure for service and repair. All I can suggest is that you consider this BEFORE you plunk down over $3,000.00 for a NORD C1, NORD WAVE, or NORD STAGE.įor my piece of mind, I am purchasing a ROLAND 700GX. While I love my Stage 88, I am a professional musician and I need a real company to back up my high end purchases. One can only speculate why Clavia/Nord needs to insulate their warranty and service by contracting out a third party to handle these important post-sale issues.įinally, here is the sum and substance of Armadillo's position when the motherboard fails: "Clavia doesn't cover parts, labor, or shipping for an instrument or component that is out of warranty, and neither do we." Armadillo is just a distributer of various products. Thus, all hardware failures go through something called Armadillo Enterprises. If you notice, Nord warranties are not made by Clavia. I'm just the distributor for Clavia, though, not a US-based branch all the warranty work is hired out to service centers across the US." "I wish Nord was as large as K Y & R, for we'd have the internal resources to do exactly what you mentioned. I informed Nord USA that "Roland, Korg, and Yamaha all will do a computer analysis of the board and replace the failed component, rather than simply charge an outrageous replacement price for the entire board, and then not even bother to respond to emails or telephone calls." Their response was as follows: And that is the price they charge (plus labor and shipping). The motherboard on my Electro 2 failed for no apparent reason (no spilled beer, not dropped, etc.) Nord USA does not have any service provider which can analyze the motherboard and fix only the failed component.
